BOYS.
BOYS is a classic coming of age story, though unlike many films of the genre we had real footage of the two main characters growing up interwoven throughout the film. This was my second project with co-writer Johnny Fiore, and the realism and truthfullness he and Fabio brought to the story was magical to witness through my viewfinder each day on set.
Director Fabio Lofria and I decided early on that 4:3 aspect ratio would be perfect for the intimate framing he was looking for, as well as cutting seamlessly with the 1990s VHS flashback footage of the boys as kids.
