Desert Dawn
Desert Dawn marks my second collaboration with both Kellan Lutz and Cam Gigande and the first time they've been on screen together since Twilight. We returned to Las Vegas to film in many of the same locations used in Ruthless, though this time around major set pieces like the hotel had been renovated, which felt like a new location. Director Marty Murray referenced True Detective season 1 as a visual inspiration for the film, and I worked to give the movie an organic feel through the lighting, relying on street lamps for night lighting rather than big moonlit nightscapes, and a handheld approach for much of the film.
