Being homeschooled I missed out on the high school experience myself so when I was handed a script for a high school dark comedy penned by Johnny Fiore and Grant Harling, I was intrigued. Angsty teen drama mixed with generous helping of Dumb and Dumber and Karate Kid references? Sign me up. Brilliant performances all around from our talent equally gifted in the nuance of intensely tragic moments as well as comedic timing.
I learned a lot on this feature - especially having a solid plan in place to shoot fast. We shot the whole film in 11 days, sometimes shooting 12 pages per day.
