Ruthless
“I shouldn’t be involved” The theme of Harry’s prevailing inner voice throughout the first act of the film, then his dramatic shift was the binding agent in my attachment to the Ruthless story and I couldn’t get it out of my head after reading the script the first time. I pitched to director Art Camacho the idea of creating an arc of color, beginning with neutral earthy tones and getting more and more colorful as Harry goes full tilt into this horrific underworld of human trafficking. Revenge is his heroin, and the twisted clarity and relief he finds in his rampage is incomparable in these moments. Staring death in the face, he feels alive again after the crushing weight of grief for so long.
